Homework week beginning 9th October 2017

Reading - poetry page 4 and 6

English - Over the next few weeks we shall be looking at writing biographies. The children have been given the task of researching questions in order to be able to write a biography on someone that they know. This person should have faced some sort of battle - this could be: an illness that they have battled; it could be a sporting achievement; a battle to be successful in their working environment, it may be a battle to stay in this country or a battle to get better at something; it may be that they know someone who has fought in a battle or simply someone who is passionate about something (e.g. wildlife, environment, young people) and have battled to get an initiative up and running in their community.

They need to have found out the answers to their questions by Tuesday 17th October as we will need these to begin writing our biographies.

Maths - Achieve 100 pg 34 and 35 (Mass and capacity)

Achieve 100+ pg 35 and 36 (measure and converting metric units)

Spellings - Test on Thursday; words ending in 'ant'

Times tables - On Friday 20th October the 8 times table is being tested unless your child has been told to learn a different times table. It is really important that your child feels confident with their timestables as known facts.
