Homework week beginning 2nd September 2019

Welcome back to the new school year.

You will probably be aware that your child is coming home with a homework diary. In here they have recorded when they have PE lessons, Forest School etc. on a timetable. They should also record what homework they have and when this should be handed in. I cannot stress enough the importance of your child completing homework and handing in at the correct time.

Website

I will also update the website weekly so that if the children forget their homework book you are able to check on here to see what they should have completed in the week.

Calendar of Dates

To help with dates this year, I have put together a calendar of dates. The children should come home with a hard copy of this. If not it is attached at the bottom of our class page. Please be advised I have put on as many dates as possible but obviously more dates may be added so keep an eye on Parentmail, the calendar and newsletters for additional dates.

Homework

Spelling - Adding suffixes to root words with a short vowel and 2 consonants (eg jump) and to root words with a long vowel and 1 consonant (eg neat)

Prepare for a role - The children are to prepare to present to the class on a role of their choice. This is to be chosen from the following list:

School Councillor, House Captain, Sports Captain.

There are other roles available if they do not fancy doing one of these e.g Red class helper, break duty monitor, computer monitor.

presentations can take any format. This may be a stand up and talk, poster, Powerpoint, song, rhyme. It is up to them to catch their audiences attention.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions
