HALF TERM HOMEWORK:

Reading - the children have been tasked with reading the article on plastic in their non fiction comprehension book pg 11- 19 and answering all of the questions. This does not need to be in until the Monday after half term.

The children have also been asked to read a book over half term based on world war 2, which will be our focus when we return.

I have attached a website https://www.booksfortopics.com/ww2 that gives a list of suitable books for Year 6 and a short blurb on them. I have also provided the children with a printed out copy of these books.

I have told the children that a visit to the library would be good to get their chosen books. I have also told them about a website called 'World of Book's which sells second hand books in excellent condition which you may also want to purchase from. Spellings - the children have 10 more tricky year 5/6 words to ensure they learn. I have also included the ones they should know from this half term. It would be a really good idea to ensure they know how to spell all of them really well. Don't forget Squeebles is an excellent app to practise spellings on. Maths

Higher score - order of operations BODMAS (page 17) and Prime numbers and prime factors (page 12)

Expected Standard - negative numbers (page 10) and multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100 (page 13)
